More frustration for youngsters |
|
The U16s and U14s
were left kicking their heels for the second week in succession after their
respective Arun & Chichester League games against Worthing United Youth and
Adur Athletic were postponed. But there were goals aplenty for the U12s for
whom George Hole scored a hat-trick in the 7-1 demolition of Bourne Sports 'A'
with Stanley Rice and Zak Comber helping themselves to two goals each.

Cup dream over for Horsham Youth |

Horsham were
dumped spectacularly out of the FA Youth Cup tonight after a 7-0 defeat at
Tooting & Mitcham United.

It's a day of inactivity but youngsters progress in cup |

Horsham's U16s
and U14s progressed through to the next round of their respective cup
competitions without kicking a ball in anger today when both sides were
awarded 'walkover' victories after Chichester City and Maidenbower Colts
failed to raise a side. The U12s' game against Regis 2000 was also called off. |

Young Hornets no match for special K's |

The under 18s
fell to a second heavy defeat of the season when they went down 5-1 to
Kingstonian in the Ryman Youth League tonight. The K's have now won each of
their opening three matches, and made it eleven goals in two games against
Horsham sides after their 6-1 demolition of YMCA, and top the table ahead of
AFC Wimbledon on goal difference. The Hornets slip to 10th. Full report to

Under 12s match postponed |
|
The under 12s
can enjoy a weekend off after the postponement of Sunday's Arun & Chichester
League match against Regis 2000 due to their opponent's County Cup
commitments. The match will be rearranged for a future date. |

16-SEP-2007: Cup
joy for under 18s |
|
The under 18s
made it a weekend cup double for Horsham by emulating the first team and
proceeding through to the next round of their competition by virtue of a six
goal margin. The Hornets were no match for their opponents Ferring, recording
a 6-0 County Cup victory with goals from Matt Whiteford (2), Elliott Hawkes
(2), Adam Hutchings and Pat Surlis. Horsham will host Brove United in the 2nd
round on Sunday 21st October. |

Under 14s enjoy goalfest |
|
The under 14s
began their season with a 7-0 win at Worthing United Youth 'B' this evening.
The Hornets had been awarded the points after Bognor Regis Town Colts' failure
to field a side for the weekend's meeting so Matthew Bulley's side sit proudly
at the top of the early Arun & Chichester League table with maximum points
form their two games so far. |

U18s drawn away in Ryman League Cup |
|
The under 18s
will make a swift return to the War Memorial Ground after being drawn away to
Carshalton Athletic in the first round of the Ryman Youth League Cup. The
youngsters beat the Robins 3-1 in their opening League fixture in August and
will be hoping for a similar result as they look to follow up their FA Youth
Cup victory over Godalming this week and progress through to the next round.
No date has been set for this tie yet but the match must take place prior to
26th October. |

Youth team progress in FA Cup |

The under 18s
progressed in to the first qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup with a 2-1 win
against Godalming Town at the Atspeed Stadium last night. A goal in each half
from Dean Wright and Elliot Hawkes, just 12 minutes from time, earned the
young Hornets a trip to Tooting & Mitcham in two weeks time.

Under 12s held by Bognor |

The under 12s
were held to a 2-2 draw by Bognor Regis Town Colts on the opening day of the
new Arun & Chichester League season. The young Hornets had a late goal
controversially disallowed to deny them all three points after Zak Comber had
scored twice for home side. More details to follow |

Magnificent Magnus helps under 16s to a winning |
|
George Magnus
fired a rapid hat-trick to break Worthing United Youth's spirit as Horsham's
under 16s got their Arun & Chichester League campaign off to a winning start.
The youngster scored three goals inside a 20 minute spell to help the side to
a 6-0 win with the other goals added by Patrick O'Sullivan, Ali Green and
skipper Adam Hutchings.

under 14s have collected their first points of the season after being awarded
the result of this Sunday's Arun & Chichester League match against Bognor
Regis Town Colts after the South Coast side were unable to raise a side. |

Under 16s hit the road for League opener |

Andrew Giacomelli
and his under 16 squad will begin the Arun & Chichester League season with a
trip to play Worthing United Youth B this Sunday after the fixtures were
released at the weekend. The squad won the Division A title of the Arun &
Chichester League as under 15s last season. Matthew Bulley's under 13s also
step up an age group and will welcome Bognor Regis Town Colts on the same
afternoon, kick-off times and venues to be announced. No fixtures have yet
been arranged at the time of going to print for the newly formed under 12s. |

Wimbledon justify favourites tag |

AFC Wimbledon
lived up to their billing as Ryman Youth League title favourites with a
resounding 6-0 success in front of 112 spectators at the Atspeed Stadium
tonight. The Hornets played well in the first half, after a hesitant opening
quarter of an hour, but went in to the break 2-0 down. Two quick goals in the
second period put the result beyond doubt and, although complacency by the
visitors allowed Ivan Raby's young side to create a few half chances, the well
organised Dons ran out clear winners. Report to follow |
