28-NOV-2007: Goal drought continues as under 18s crash out of League Cup

Horsham's under 18s made it three games without a goal with a 1-0 defeat at Carshalton in tonight's Isthmian Youth League Cup tie. The decisive goal came after quarter of an hour's play and the result proved something of a disappointment after the lads began their campaign with an impressive 3-0 win on the same ground  back in August

Recent signing Josh Clack enjoyed a match to remember when he scored 4 goals on his debut to help the under 14s defeat Crawley Red Devils 5-2 in the replayed County Cup 3rd round tie. Freezing temperatures had caused last week's tie to be abandoned at full time with the scores level but Clack soon made his mark in this game, claiming a first half hat-trick. Horsham's other goal was scored by George Hall. Full report...

A case of hypothermia caused Sunday's County Cup tie between Horsham and Crawley Town's U14s to be abandoned at the end of full-time, leaving the sides to replay at a later date. In extremely unpleasant conditions, a Crawley player had to be treated by paramedics after collapsing on the pitch, leaving the match officials with no option other than to call an abandonment. The sides were level at 1-1 at the end of normal time with George Hall scoring his 12th goal of the season for the Hornets. Full report...

George Magnus was the goalscoring hero as Horsham's U16s marched in to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup with a comfortable win against Chichester City United. In appalling conditions, Magnus gave Horsham a 2-0 interval lead before scoring his hat-trick goal just three minutes from the end. The Hornets must now travel to Regis 2000 in February's semi-final. 18-NOV-2007: George gets young Hornets out of a Hole

Horsham U12's travelled to Marle Place Wanderers on Sunday for a Sussex County Cup clash with the hosts boasting of having been undefeated on their own ground and, within minutes of the kick-off, Horsham were denied a penalty. The half was fiercely contested with both teams showing some great football but it was the Hornets who took the lead when a George Hole corner met the head of Stanley Rice to allow the Hornets to turn around a goal to the good. The second half was also tight and, 20 minutes in, Marle conjured up an equaliser. Just as the thought of extra time, and the dreaded penalties, was looming Hole managed to chip the goalie to secure an excellent win. Man of the match for the second week running was defender Jake Williams

Alistair Green bagged a hat-trick as the U16s saw off a spirited Worthing United side 4-2 at Southwater on Sunday. 12-NOV-2007: Zak attack too good for Chichester

Zak Comber helped himself to four goals as the U12s defeated Chichester City Utd 5-1 on Sunday. Inspired after watching the first team's FA Cup triumph the previous day, Zak took his season's tally to 22 goals with a brace in each half. A tightly fought contest saw Chichester reduce the arrears in the second half, after Horsham had taken a three goal lead, but Comber and Dan Kirkland put the result beyond doubt to register the young Hornets' 3rd league win of the season.

04-NOV-2007: Bulley's Boys in to cup semis

Matt Bulley's U14s scored a fine 5-2 win over divisional rivals Fishersgate Flyers to progress to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup. 04-NOV-2007: Youngsters score a perfect 10

The U12s made light work of progressing through to the 2nd round of the Sussex County Cup with a 10-1 defeat of Bourne Sports 'A'. Horsham were in complete control from the first whistle, rattling in seven first half goals through Zak Comber (2), Stanley Rice (2), George Hole, Danny Kirkland and Reece Redman with Comber and Joe Clissold adding further goals after the break. 02-NOV-2007: Brave Hornets beaten by late goal

An 89th minute goal denied Horsham's under 18s a share of the points as they went down 3-2 to Staines Town last night in an exciting Ryman Youth League fixture. The Hornets led through a goal from Dean Wright but were pegged back and trailed 2-1 before Wright levelled the scores, midway through the second half. With both sides committed to attack, it was Staines who landed the killer punch when 'keeper Tom Baxter saved well only to see the striker clip the loose ball back over his head and in to the corner of the net for the winning goal.
