Horsham's Under 18s opened their pre-season programme with a trip to the New Defence to play Horley Town Youth. The squad of 16 was made up of a number of last year's Under 18s, some trialists and four members of the Under 16s. The match was played in continuous rain throughout the ninety minutes and an evenly matched first half saw the teams go in level at 0-0. After the break, Under 16 substitute Josh Clack put Horsham in front and, on the hour mark, Jamie May struck the second to give The Hornets a 2 - 0 win.
