Horsham Youth continued their pre-season at Cowfold last night with a match against the village side's first team. This was another opportunity for trialists and, with two more lads from the under 16s, Horsham took a squad of sixteen to the match. Horsham got off to a bright start and, for the first half hour, the match was even with half chances at either end. However, the latter stages of the half saw some average defending from the Hornets punished by some crisp passing and finishing from the hosts who scored three times without reply. After the break Horsham showed a good reaction and improved defending ensured the hosts were unable to add to the scoreline. The Hornets controlled play for periods of the second half but the final pass let them down too many times and clear chances were few. The match finished 3-0 but Horsham learnt plenty from this outing.
