Horsham suffered their first loss of the season with this narrow defeat at the hands of Withdean. With the opportunity to climb the table, Horsham were looking for maximum points but it was the home side who started the brighter and worked hard to shut down any Horsham possession. They deservedly took the lead midway through the first half when the tall striker, who caused problems throughout, created an opportunity for himself which he took with a low drive. Horsham continued to struggle with the conditions and hardly put two passes together in the first half. The second half started brighter for the visitors as they pushed for an equalizer but Withdean cleared any danger and as much huff and puff as Horsham could muster it was a rare bad day at the office for the U16’s.
