The U16s began their preparations for the new season with a win away at Pagham F.C. Played on a windy night at Nyetimber Lane, Horsham fielded 4 new signings in the starting line up as they looked to gel for the forthcoming campaign. The first half saw few chances at either end but with Horsham having shaded the play. George Hall had a left footed shot well saved and new signing Aidan Entickknapp went close with a back post header. It was the home side who took the lead within 5 minutes of the restart when Pagham's left winger was given the space to drill a low cross for the onrushing forward to bundle the ball home. This inspired Horsham into life with the Pagham keeper under increased pressure as chances were created and it was a cross from the left which allowed Josh Clack to win the race of 3 Horsham players to level the scores. 5 minutes later the visitors took the lead when right back Stuart Chester pushed forward and his floated cross fell to the feet of Louis Masih who fired home an unstoppable drive from outside the area. Horsham finished the stronger but no further goals were added.
