After a six week lay-off due to the weather,
Horsham U16’s returned to action in the League Cup and made the
perfect start with only 5 minutes on the clock when David
O’Callaghan’s cross was collected by Joss Clack to fire the visitors
into the lead. Horsham controlled the game and doubled their advantage
midway through the half, with the same combination of players
providing the same result for Clack's 2nd of the game. And Clack’s hat
trick was completed 5 minutes later to complete a period of play which
saw Horsham totally dominating the game in all areas of the pitch.
The remainder of the half saw little let up for
the home side. Marcus Collier came close to scoring, as did
O’Callaghan, and Lewis Scally was unlucky to have a goal ruled out by
an alleged foul on the 'keeper.
The second half saw the same pattern of play with
the visitors pushing forward whilst the defence, marshalled by Joss
Knowles, kept any Jarvis attack to a minimum. Clack’s personal match
tally was added to when, after 14 minutes of play, he collected a
through ball and outmuscled the defence to drive home his and
Horsham’s forth. Clack seemed to be unable to do anything wrong, nor
did the entire squad, and Scally added a fifth, finishing off another
flowing move before Brandon Tiller scored a bullet header from another
O’Callaghan assist to round off a very pleasing performance.
