On a Sunday afternoon when the weather was more appropriate for cricket than football, Horsham Youth entertained mid-table Bognor Regis Town Colts needing only a point to win the Arun & Chichester League title.

Bognor did everything they could to stop Horsham and, in the first half, you could not split the two sides. But in the second half Bognor came out of the traps first, putting Horsham under pressure. With just over 5 minutes gone, Horsham were on the attack but lost the ball just outside their opponents' area. The visitors pumped the ball forward and took the lead, chipping the ball over the Horsham 'keeper.

The Hornets pressed on and got their equaliser in the 60th minute with a well taken goal by George Hole but were unable to find the winner, leaving the final score as 1-1 to give Horsham the point they needed to win the title with four games in hand.
