What a game! The young Hornets took possession for
most of the first half and looked set for a goal at any time through
excellent crosses and solid play from Britland, quick feet from Masih,
Law and Goacher.
A well placed cross from Smith found a volley by
Law denied by the post. Despite excellent football, and great shape,
the back of the net remained elusive with Nash so close but just
hitting the crossbar. A solid contact from Manton and the ball was in,
only to be disallowed on grounds of a foul.
A great bicycle kick from Masih but the young
striker was again denied by the woodwork, however the rebound struck
gold and was skilfully volleyed in by Smith. The game switched ends
and the defensive Summerly side took attack but were quickly brought
back by the quick reaction and fast pace of Ruz.
After half time both sides returned to the pitch
with everything to play for, Nash putting in some speedy runs
resulting in another goal for Smith. At 2-0 the game went up a gear
with Summerly on the attack once again and after a fantastic triple
save effort from Broadley, Summerly made the score 2-1. The equaliser
came soon after and as Britland took a free kick just wide of the post
a gutsy game finished 2-2
