The U13 Hornets proved to be the predators when
they played Predators Youth FC on Sunday in their first League Cup
game of the season.
The game started well balanced but, 15 minutes into
the first half, the fluid passing between the Hornets unlocked the
Predators defence with Callum Nash putting the Hornets a goal up. The
Predators were quick to reply, balancing the score at 1-1 following a
free kick just outside the Hornets area.
Although Horsham were unable to capitalise on a
penalty award shortly after the Predators' equaliser, the persistent
waves of attack from the Hornets broke through the Predators defence
with Harry Law putting the home side ahead once again.
Wave after wave of Horsham attacks continued
throughout the first half, with two further goals for Callum Nash to
complete his hat-trick and a goal by Harry Masih, leaving the score
5:1 to the Hornets at the
half time break.
The second half proved a scrappier affair with the Predators desperate
to come back into the game. However they rarely threatened the goal,
thanks to the solid defending by the Hornets back four. Another goal
for Masih and one for Dan Branson sealed the game with a much deserved
win for the Hornets. Final score 7:1 to the Hornets.
