Firstly a massive thank you goes to the management and supporters of Sompting & Thistle United, and the parents of our lads, for their understanding on Sunday when we had to move pitches from Horsham to Billingshurst at short notice.

Having waited for as long as we could for the pitch to thaw out, a decision was made to move to Billingshurst and delay the kick-off by an hour. The lads reacted well to the unusual circumstances but enjoyed playing on a far superior surface.

Some good football was played, with Sompting keen to break up play as much as they could but, as the first half progressed, Horsham's strength started to show with Finn Bigg scoring the first. Playing down hill with the wind behind meant that the lads had to adjust and stop over hitting passes and some good work down the left led to Nicholas Bristow being fed through to thump a good left foot drive home just before the break.

The second half continued in much the same format with Horsham's defence rarely troubled. All 13 players were used and contributed well to a good team performance. If the Sompting keeper hadn't been in such good form, the score would have been quite a few more. But the lads had to wait for the third to come from a great left foot strike from the edge of the box from James Tilley ,8 minutes from time.

Improving all round week on week physically, as well as technically, there's not much more I can ask for as a manager!
