Well, at last a game of football ! Not having played for 3 weeks, and our home pitch waterlogged again, we switched to the opposition's pitch and got the game on.

Right from the off it was obvious that Patcham were going to make a game of it. Filling their midfield with 5, our 4 struggled at times but worked really hard. The lads started bringing our wingers into the game who started penetrating the flanks but Patcham's captain was a tower of strength and kept snuffing out the chances created.

After about 20 mins Horsham created a chance which was blocked by the opposing skipper but G Matthews, our lively right winger, reacted quickest to drill the ball home. Patcham attacked straight from the restart and were rewarded when their striker was felled in the area -penalty!! Horsham 'keeper J Moss was up to the task and saved comfortably.

1-0 at half time but more effort and desire to win every ball was asked and the Horsham team responded by upping their game. 5 minutes in, and 35 yds out, F Bigg received the ball and struck it sweetly with a looping strike over the goalie's head. Not long after, G Matthews got his second with a near post strike but Patcham didn't give up and if it wasn't for some strong determined defending from our back five they may have been rewarded. J Tilley kept his head and carried the ball into the box to score the fourth for a very good and improved second half.

Well done lads a good result after 3 weeks off.
