This was an enjoyable first game of the season, with Horsham looking great in their new kit, and they made a promising start to quickly shake off their Summer blues.

Yet it was the visitors that took the lead when a sweeping break down the left resulted in a midfielder finishing well from a whipped in cross.

1-0 down at half-time, a few words from the management did the trick as the Hornets raced out of the blocks to develop a 3-1 lead inside  15 minutes of the restart through Jack Reeves (2) and Hugo Cowan.

But Lancing dug deep and battled to the end, netting twice to make the final score a 3-3 draw for a fair result.
