A humiliating thrashing by Shoreham Youth Academy
brought Horsham's participation in this season's Sussex
County Cup competition to a premature end. Its a case of
'back to the drawing board' for the management team with
players within the squad needing to take a long hard
look at themselves, and how they prepare for matches.
The Hornets trailed 3-1 at
half-time, with Ryan Hallett's 43rd minute free-kick
giving the visitors false hopes of an unlikely second
half comeback, but an incredible 3 goals in 5 minutes
immediately after the interval extinguished any thoughts
of an away victory.
With games coming thick
fast it doesn't give the management much time to change
things but, although it is a frustrating time for the
young squad for whom nothing seems to be going right,
team spirit is better than its been for a while. Now,
though, is the time for the players to stand up and be
counted.
