Bristow's goal lands league & cup double              27/4/11

A first half goal from leading scorer Nick Bristow was enough to take the U13s to victory over Middleton Diamonds A on Tuesday evening and secure a league and cup double for Richard Wootton's side. Bristow's 23rd goal of the season was reward for a fairly dominant display from the young Hornets with Middleton failing to threaten their opponents' goal until the closing stages. Well done to Richard, Jason Reeves and the players on a superb achievement. Report...

COW'S ABOUT THAT...HUGO'S GOAL WINS THE CUP!                 3/4/11

Photo by Victoria Thompson, www.the-resident.co.ukHugo Cowan's 11th goal of the season was enough to secure the Arun & Chichester League Cup for the Hornets' U13s, making it a magnificent hat-trick of trophies for Horsham Youth, with victory over Middleton Diamonds 'A' today. Cowan's effort, a minute before half-time, was fair reward for a strong first half performance but, although Kieran Wootton enjoyed a largely untroubled match in goal, Horsham were indebted to their 'keeper for a fine second half save that kept Middleton at bay. The U13s were also out of luck when they were unable to fulfil their Arun & Chichester League match with Highdown Saints 'A' although their opponents' failure to raise a side meant the Hornets were awarded a 'walkover' victory that puts them just 4 points behind leaders Middleton Diamonds 'A' with 4 games in hand.

Hard work paying off as second final reached     27/2/11

The Horsham Youth management would like to say a massive 'well done' to Horsham Youth U/14 on reaching the final of the Arun & Chichester League Cup after today's 3-0 victory over Highdown Saints. Special congratulations go to Barry Nash and Duncan Norris for their hard work that began back in the summer in putting the side together and assembling a competitive group of lads who have enjoyed their football this season under the new management. The side were left high and put out to dry when the former manager left for Crawley, taking the heart of the squad with him, but those who stuck by the Club have turned in to a cracking side which we are sure will grow and grow. We are delighted that we now have 2 sides through to cup finals this season, with the U14s joining Ian Meadows' U15s who qualified for their League Cup Final earlier this month. We would like to place on record the fantastic work that Ian and his coaching staff of Andy Hole and Dave Waller have put in this season and wish them the best of luck for the final against Hawks Youth at Peacehaven on March 20th, kick-off 2.30pm. The U13s could make it a hat-trick of cup finals but must wait for a break in the weather before playing their League Cup semi against Highdown Saints that was today postponed for the second successive week.                   Annie Raby, Horsham Youth Secretary

Ask all your family to start collecting them and why not ask your boss if you can put up a box at work? This year, you can also donate your used ink cartridges and old mobile phones and Annie Raby will record our progress on the notice board at Gorings Mead.
