Josh Pelling has escaped suspension after a league hearing
overturned the red card he received against AFC Hornchurch last week.
The young goalkeeper, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, suffered
the first dismissal of his career when he was harshly adjudged to have
brought down Mervin Abraham despite having made clear contact with the
ball. "We're delighted with the decision," said John Maggs. "We felt
very strongly that the referee got it wrong and we're thankful that
the appeal committee has agreed with us." Club Secretary John Lines
thanked AFC Hornchurch for allowing the club use of video evidence to
help with the appeal. |
