Claude
Seanla is set to make his Horsham farewell in Saturday’s
Ryman League Premier Division match at Harrow Borough,
having agreed to join Boreham Wood for the remainder of
the season. The popular striker has averaged a goal
every 3 games for the Hornets but the rigours of
travelling from his Milton Keynes home, as well as the
offer of improved terms with the Hertfordshire club, was
too much to resist for the Ivorian who will make the
switch early next week. John Maggs’ disappointment at
losing another key member of his squad was obvious but
he had nothing but praise for his outgoing player.
“Claude has been one of my most loyal players. He has
been really good for us and is a smashing lad, a real
gentleman. He has had to put up with a lot of travelling
and hardly missed a training session but I can fully
understand his reasons for going and I wish him every
success at Boreham Wood.” Meanwhile, Maggs revealed that
Ben Andrews and Pat Harding have pledged their immediate
futures to the club, despite interest from a number of
Ryman League Clubs. “It doesn’t surprise me that other
clubs are strengthening their squads for the run-in,” he
continued, “and it doesn’t surprise me that they’re
coming in for my players. Ben and Pat are big players
for us so I’m absolutely delighted that they have
decided to stay with us.” |
