Steve Sargent is rated as only 50/50 for
Saturday's visit to AFC Hornchurch where the Hornets
will be aiming to end a 4 match losing streak. The former Leatherhead
and Crawley midfielder suffered a dead leg during the first half of
last weekend's defeat by Tooting & Mitcham United that forced him to
miss Tuesday's 2-1 loss at Sutton. Sargent aside, Horsham will be at
full strength for the trip to Upminster where the sides will be in the
unusual position of not having faced each other this season, despite
the campaign having only 6 weeks to run. The Urchins are currently mid-table,
having won a third of their 30 games and, on Tuesday night had an
excellent win over Chelmsford City to book themselves an Essex Senior
Cup Final date with Colchester United.
Former Billericay Town striker Rikki
Burbridge has returned to the club to help their bid for promotion but
they, like Horsham, will have an equal eye on events at the top and
bottom of the table with just 13 points separating the teams in 5th
and 19th places in this unpredictable season.
Hornchurch are unbeaten at home since
September but have drawn 4 of their last 5 games and lost 1-0 at
Canvey Island on Saturday.
Last season's corresponding fixture saw
the Essex club take the points with an emphatic 3-0 win.
