ASC STRIKERS 0 HORSHAM 16

County Cup, 2nd round. Sunday 14th October 2007

George Borer, Ryan Wotton, Dan Petchey, Zack Gray, Matt Mayes, Daryl Jeeves, David O’Callagan, Matt Clarke, George Hall, Louis Masih, Marcus Collier Subs: Lewis Goldsmith, Sam Bulley

Goalscorers – George Hall (4), Matthew Clarke (4), Lewis Goldsmith (4), Louis Masih (3), David O'Callaghan

Horsham, missing three of their regular back line, showed their intent right from the start and, within two minutes, a cross from the left was left rattling around the penalty box for Matt Clarke to tuck away his first.
With ASC struggling to get out of their own half, George Hall ran onto a through ball from David O'Callaghan to slot home Horsham’s second. O'Callaghan again became provider when his shot was parried by the goalkeeper straight to Louis Masih for his first. With eighteen minutes gone, Hall ran from the midfield to score a fine solo effort and this was followed two minutes later with a cross from Marcus Collier being tapped in by Masih for his second. Sam Bulley came on for Dan Petchey and was soon to provide a cross that was tapped in by Clarke for Horsham’s sixth.

The start of the second half saw Petchey and Goldsmith on for Masih and Collier and Hall got his hat trick in the 52nd minute, followed by his fourth six minutes later. Masih came back on for Hall and, seconds later, Goldsmith scored his first with a deflected shot from outside the area. The 62nd minute saw a superb through ball from Ryan Wotton tapped in by Goldsmith for his second. A nine minute spell saw Horsham add a further six goals; a solo run by O'Callaghan, two for Clarke (one penalty), two for Goldsmith and one for Masih.

Full time saw Horsham run out 16 – 0 victors and comfortably through to the third round where they host Crawley Town Devils
